The Viet Nam Population and Housing Census at time-point 00:00 on 01 April 2019 undertaken in accordance with the Decision No. 772/QD-TTg dated 26 June 2018 by the Prime Minister was implemented successfully. This is the fifth Population and Housing Census in Viet Nam since the country’s reunification in 1975. The 2019 Population and Housing Census collected basic information on population and housing throughout the territory of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to serve for planning the socio-economic development policies of the country and monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals committed to realizing by the Government of Viet Nam.
After the completion of processing and tabulation of the Census results, the Central Population and Housing Census Steering Committee has disseminated three publications: (1) “The Viet Nam Population and Housing Census of 00.00 hours on 1 April 2019: Implementation Organization and Preliminary Results” at the Conference on the 2019 Population and Housing Census preliminary results dissemination on 11th July 2019; (2) “Results – the Viet Nam Population
and Housing Census of 00.00 hours on 1 April 2019” and (3) the Pocketbook of “The Viet Nam Population and Housing Census 00.00 hours on 1 April 2019: Selected key indicators” at the Conference on official results dissemination and closing the 2019 Population and Housing Census on 19th December 2019. In addition, a number of other products of the 2019 Population and Housing Census have also been released for the communication of the results of the Census such as the infographic image video of data results, photo exhibition “Stories behind the data: Stories and photos collected from the 2019 Population and Housing Census”.
In order to provide the detailed data information representing at the district administrative units, the General Statistics Office has undertaken the task of compiling and publishing the publication entitled “Completed Results of the 2019 Viet Nam Population and Housing Census”. The publication includes 26 detailed tabulations processed from the 2019 Population and Housing Census database, presenting the most major results of the 2019 Viet Nam Population and Housing Census by administrative levels.
Despite the great efforts we make in compiling the report, shortcomings and limitations are unavoidable, especially for meeting the requirements of in-depth information. We wish to receive comments from all users to continuously improve quality of the subsequent publications of the 2019 Viet Nam Population and Housing Census.
